Just ordered a complete set of Cooper Discoverer AT3-XLT tires from TireBuyer.com and I can’t wait to get them installed on my 2002 Ford F-250 XLT 4×4.
This is an All-Season/All Terrain tire and just like it’s ‘little brother’ (the Cooper Discoverer AT3-LT) Cooper claims that this tire has the grip to go off-road with no problem.
I am certainly going to find out for myself.
There are two differences between the AT3-LT and the AT3-XLT.
The first difference is the EXTRA BEEF the XLT has on its sidewalls.
The second is the few extra dollars that I had to pay to get that EXTRA BEEF.
(Take a look at the images below. It may not seem like much, but I have seen these tires live-and-in-person side by side and the visual difference is HUGE.)
I think it was well worth the few extra dollars to add that EXTRA KILLER LOOK to my truck.
It’s just a personal preference.
The tread patterns are virtually the same between these two Cooper Tires and the technology that has been installed into these tires should give me the power to haul some pretty heavy loads along with getting some good even tread wear.
Something else, Whisper Grooves.
These Whisper Grooves claim to create a sound barrier for a quieter ride inside the cab of my truck, so that I can listen to my kick-ass rock.
Ejector Ledges that keep stones and rocks off of the tire grooves which should protect from shredding or damaging the tire and should provide enhanced traction for when I choose to go off-road.
These Cooper Tires offer a ‘45 Day Road Test’ and you better believe that I am going to TEST!
Finally, these tires come with a Standard Limited Warranty.
Well, that’s all for now.
Stay tuned for more updates.
